It took every bit of healing/absorbing that I had to survive despite soft-capped defenses, and it took a few rounds of lore pets to beat it down all the way. Speaking of Destiny, Controllers can get perma-able mez prot in their Psionic Mastery epic pool (Combined with Combat Jumping and/or Acrobatics) so they can skip Clarion forever. I came to the conclusion that the character I wanted for a content runner (basically some sort of stalker, scrapper or brute) and the character I wanted for endgame GM tomfoolery (Ill/cold_rad_traps_dark_etc) just weren't the same thing. If you have not given City of Heroes a try since its return in Homecoming, under the excellent guidance of the SCORE team, you are missing out on the re-emergence of something extraordinary. The force field generators are summoned at 75% hp, 50% hp and 25% hp - one per player, and only once each time. many of their secondaries have -regen, with traps poison trap actually shutting regen off entirely with it's massive -1000% regen (poisons' poison trap does not) and for bots and thugs primaries it's pretty easy to get to the defense softcaps with non rare io sets. What you’ll want to do is research IO sets and find ones that shore up weaknesses in your archetype. For some time now, that solo character has been my DM/Regen scrapper.
